Too many ideas…..
I want to make this year’s church Halloween event special. I want to give a 17 year old a special birthday and I want to make a decision about visiting my kids. My head is swimming with ideas.
Usually when I have a question, everyone tells me to Google it. Well, I did Google these ideas and now I have even more ideas and no better idea of what to do. It seems to me that my best decision is to stop, slow down, take time, pray and listen for God’s voice. I think if I don’t do it in that order, I won’t get the answer I need. My head is truly filled with ideas and they are all competing with one another.
Pray about one idea at a time and LISTEN for the answer
OK. I’ve got a plan for the Halloween event. I need to talk to the pastor to see what he thinks and then I can start advertising it.
I need to talk to the teen’s boyfriend and best friend and run my ideas by them and get ideas from them for the birthday celebration.
I need to explore time off from my job and/or working fewer hours in a week. Then I can make a plan for visiting my kids and implement it.
I still have a lot of ideas, but I don’t need them any more because the Lord has given me a plan and I intend to follow it.
Move over Google. Move over Pinterest. I’ve got you covered.
Father, thank you for giving me the answer to my dilemma. Help me to remember to slow down, take time and really listen for your voice. It is the best. Amen.
